HIS/RIS/PACS integrates the digital imaging operation into the business enterprise. Patient demographics, radiology procedure scheduling information and diagnostic images are united in ways that improve overall business practices.
HL7 interfaces are made between the HIS, RIS and PACS (systems). Imaging madality technicians can simply query a Worklist for scheduled and approved studies. Patient and study demographs are imported into the modality. Radiologist can dictate results and transcriptionists can prepare reports. Final approved reports are automatically associated with the proper image data set. Uniform electronic health records (EHR) are created for each patient.
